With the release of the TPR series in 2018, Bersa has offered shooters additional reasons to give the full-sized and compact pistols a chance. With the TPR series, Bersa has focused its redesign efforts mostly on the trigger, one of the main problems for DA/SA pistols. The double-action pull has been optimized to prevent stacking. It’s lightened, so it consistently breaks. The reset is short, allowing for an incredibly quick transition from the first shot to the second. The TPR’s grip has also been reduced, improving the shooter’s reach to the trigger. Additionally, the manufacturer has made small improvements to the general ergonomics, such as an extensively undercut trigger guard and enhanced grip texturing. TPR pistols include an ambidextrous slide release and decocker, making them more left-handed-friendly. The slide and aluminum frame have been improved, with grip texturing added to the front of the frame for thumb support and serration added to the slide’s fore. While the compact TPR model (3.25-inch barrel) is available in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP, the full-sized TPR model (4.25-inch barrel) is chambered in 9 mm.
